IGCSE/IBMYP Exam-Oriented Preparation (14-16 years)
Grades 9th and 10th are devoted to focussed preparation for the upcoming IGCSE or IBMYP examinations that children in international schools across the world take. This involves practising for the Language Paper, the Literature Paper as well as attempting the Coursework assigned throughout the two-year journey. The students are evaluated and graded on all three for their final assessment.
These classes are conducted on an individual basis or in very small groups of upto 4 students only.
- Language Paper: This involves reading and comprehending unseen passages and poems, responding to questions that unearth layers of meaning, creative use of language, figures of speech and analyses of the content.
- Literature Paper: Our literature preparation includes studying all genres of literature: novels, poetry and drama. For students in grades 9th & 10th, the texts are selected by the school. We prepare our students in their respective texts teaching them especially the writing techniques to answer analytical questions.
- Coursework: This is an essential component of IGCSE and IBMYP grading. Coursework is done through in-depth research oriented Literature and Language papers, and even Oral assessments. Guiding our students each step of the way, we ensure that they not just acquire good grades but also learn the skills of research, analyses, writing and speaking along the way.
- Exam-Oriented Practice: Apart from building our students’ English language skills, there is a noticeable focus on examination-based practice in order to familiarise our students with examination pattern, marking rubric and time management skills.
