Fundamentally Sound (9-11 years)
We practise with our students all the fundamentals of English language:
- Grammar: Grammar forms the back bone of any language. As such, there is an emphasis on developing a strong grammatical foundation. Armed with a comprehensive study material that provides intensive practice, we lay tremendous focus on getting the basics right!
- Reading-Comprehension: This involves reading with understanding and responding ably to comprehension, vocabulary and analytical questions.
- Vocabulary Building: Words are the tools of self-expression. An impressive choice of vocabulary elevates one’s standard of speaking and writing. Through customised vocabulary worksheets, reading/comprehension passages and creative writing tasks, newer words are learned and practised all the way.
- Literature: We introduce our young learners to various genres of Children’s Literature: Popular Short Stories, Folklores, Poems and even Drama. This helps in nurturing a love for reading, which is essential for lifelong learning. Each reading text is accompanied by a worksheet practising comprehension questions, creative use of vocabulary and a guided Creative Writing Task.
- Creative Writing: The final output of language acquisition is self-expression, especially through creatively crafted writing compositions. Our students practise a variety of Creative Writing Tasks such as:
1. Opinionated Writing / Persuasive Writing.
2. Descriptive Writing.
3. Narrative Writing (Visual-based Compositions).
4. Letter/Email Writing.
5. Diary Entry / Personal Expression. - We guide our students to think deeper on a topic, plan their writing and express themselves using appropriate words and expressions.
